Taking this photo gave the photographer fits. He tried three different backgrounds, raised it to several heights, and kept moving the lights forward to minimize the shadows. Still it doesn't seem to do the award justice! Click to enlarge.

Here are links to some of my author-to-author interviews of first novelists:

Ivy Ngeow author of Cry of the Flying Rhino, winner of the 2016 Proverse Prize.

Golda Mowe author of Iban Dream and Iban Journey.

Preeta Samarasan author of Evening is the Whole Day

Chuah Guat Eng,  author of Echoes of Silence and Days of Change.

"Why rework on your old pieces? Don't you get bored of reading it?" - These are what my friend says when she finds me revising my entries after send them to competitions. I believe, reworking on them pays and I often quote you to her.

Aw,
Thanks -- it's so true! Too many writers don't bother. They go for quantity, not quality. It's the quality that makes your work stand out, and once you get really good. The quantity, that's also quality, will come.

Ee Leen,
Thanks. I like to look at it and remind myself that this is why I write -- you just never know, and for the third time out the door with this collection. Still amazed by it! Because it was a reprint (except for two stories), I was unable to enter it into any international contests. I wonder how it would have fared?

Yes, by all means, add my link. I need to update my links soon, and will add yours. Thanks. Been on my mind for quite awhile!
